The 1st American Volunteer Group (AVG), nicknamed the Flying Tigers, was comprised of pilots from the US Army Air Corps, Navy, and Marine Corps. Consisting of three fighter squadrons known for their innovative flying style and tactical victories, the Flying Tigers’ shark-faced fighter planes remain among the most recognizable of any individual combat aircraft in World War II.
Our new Limited Edition Flying Tigers Fort Knocks pay homage to this revered fighter squadron. Only 500 pairs rolled off the assembly line featuring matte grey arms and frame, silver-mirrored lenses, silver hardware, yellow accents on the nose-bridge and tips, US Air Force-inspired insignia on the arms, and of course, the Flying Tigers’ signature shark face on both temples. Each pair comes protected in a pouch with an all-over cloud print, and a / Flying Tigers balsa wood plane completes the set.
